In April, the newsprint sector recorded a massive 80% increase in imports to Europe from North America, the Association of European Publication Paper Producers reported. European demand was up by 3.8% (34,000 tonnes) taking the year-to-date total to 1.5% so far. Total European shipments for April edged up by 0.8% on the back of small rises in both shipments to Europe (0.7%) and exports (0.9%).
