Total U.S. industry consumption of recovered paper was 2.49 million tons, 3% lower than November 2009 and 6% lower than last month, according to the American Forest & Paper Association's (AF&PA) November 2010 Recovered Paper Monthly Report.
However, the U.S. consumed 7% more recovered paper in the first 11 months of 2010 than during the same period last year.
In addition, the U.S. exported 9% more recovered paper in October than in September. Year-to-date exports of recovered paper are down 2% compared to the same months last year.
