New collective agreements have been adopted in the Finnish pulp and paper industry.
At the start of June the Board of Directors of the Finnish Paper Workers' Union Paperiliitto approved negotiation results as new collective agreements for Essity Finland, Pankakoski Mill, Mondi Powerflute, Corex and UPM.
The content of the outcome of the negotiations will not be communicated to third parties, Paperiliitto said.
The negotiations for UPM affect all the business divisions: UPM Specialty Papers, UPM Communication Papers, UPM Pulp Business, UPM Biofuels and UPM Raflatac.
UPM commented that the new collective labour agreements would have a two-year contract period and would enter into force immediately. The agreed wage increases in the collective agreements will take effect from 1 July 2024.
"We are pleased that, after long and thorough negotiations, we have reached five agreements where we have jointly developed the content of the agreements to meet the needs of each business," says Riitta Savonlahti, Executive Vice President, HR at UPM.
