Production at the Metsä Fibre’s Kemi bioproducts mill in Finland has been standing still since the gas explosion in late March.
The company is repairing the damage in the evaporation plant and will restart the mill by the end of June.
Metsä Fibre Kemi bioproduct mill is geared for a production capacity of approximately 1.5 million tpy of pulp, including some 1 million t of NBSK, 300,000 t of bleached hardwood kraft pulp and 180,000 t of unbleached kraft pulp. Commercial production started only at the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2023....
