Norske Skog plans to diversify the product offering of the Saugbrugs mill in Norway.
The company will not rebuild the SC paper machine PM 6, which was severely damaged in a massive rockslide in April 2023, but aims to use a portion of the insurance settlement money to build a BCTMP (bleached chemi-thermomechanical pulp) at the Saugbrugs site. If approved, the 300,000 tpy BCTMP fibre line would come online in the first half 2027 and serve customers in growing packaging materials and hygiene products markets, the company said....
