Abolfazl Roghani Golpayegani said, "Now that due to the sanctions imposed, people's purchase power has been reduced since the beginning of the year and because of the spread of the corona people are reluctant to buy so much, the government should directly enter the product market and take the responsibility of purchasing the products of producers so that the liquidity of businesses will be provided."
With the spread of the Corona virus in the country, the fate of many micro and macro businesses is in a state of ambiguity, and experts and economic activists stress the necessity that government should support businesses. In a letter to the President on March 3rd, the head of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce referred to the outbreak of the Corona virus and its effects on the economy, while expressing his concern over the situation of service businesses, small and medium-sized enterprises and large upstream companies, and he made eight proposals for partial compensation. Moreover, the heads of the three chambers of commerce, industry, mines and agriculture, the cooperatives and the guilds wrote a letter to the president, calling for special support for enterprises and businesses until September 20, 2020 in order to avoid a severe recession. The private sector needs the support in order to survive up to 40 percent of the country's economy.
In this regard, Abolfazl Roghani Golpayegani, the head of the Commission of Industries at the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, referred to the proposals made by the private sector parliament on supporting businesses and emphasized, "The proposals are the summary of the opinions of the Iranian Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture."
In an interview with the News Agency of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, emphasizing that in today's crisis, small and medium-sized businesses have suffered more than any other business, he suggested that the government take action to support these businesses as soon as possible and to regulate liquidity and purchase their products."
Roghani added, " Now that due to the sanctions imposed, people's purchase power has been reduced since the beginning of the year and because of the spread of the corona people are reluctant to buy so much, the government should directly enter the product market and take the responsibility of purchasing the products of producers so that the liquidity of businesses will be provided."
The head of the Commission of Industries at the Iranian Chamber of Commerce continued to describe the social responsibility of economic activists in critical situations and noted, "In current critical conditions, economic activists have shown how they are standing beside the people. We have seen that with the spread of the Corona virus, some factories have shifted their production lines and even manufactured products needed for the market freely. But the businesspeople are not only responsible to make products that are deficient in the market at reasonable prices in critical situations. Emotional and ethical support and being with people is another important part of the responsibility that fortunately the economic activists have shown they can afford to do it, as well.
