Shadegan people's representative to the Iran Islamic Consultative Assembly announced the agreement signed by the Headquarters of Execution of Imam's Command, the National Development Fund, Meli Bank, Industry and Mine Bank, Parsian Bank and Sepah Bank in the city.
According to ILNA in Khuzestan province, Majid Nasseri-Nejad said, "The agreement of the huge paper production plant from sugarcane wastes has been signed with an investment of 467 million USD."
Nasseri Nejad continued, "The feasible studies of the plant had been conducted for years, but due to the required the very large amount of investment, the Headquarters of Execution of Imam's Command was not able to implement this large and valuable project. After several years of negotiations and follow-up, a consortium was finally designed to perform the project."
The member of the Parliament's Legal and Judicial Commission said, "The plant will be implemented around the Salmaneh village in the subdivision of Darkhuein of Shadegan city, and its land is ready."
He added, "The plant is expected to create employment for 2000 people all of whom are to be employed from local people of the region."
It is worth noting that the three sugarcane companies of Farabi, Salman Farsi and Dabal Khazaei, which provide the raw material of the project, are situated in this region."
