Exporting printing machines from Iran to Iraq and Turkey

In an interview with the cultural correspondent of Pouya Journalists Club, Babak Abedini, the head of the Union of Exporters of Printing Industry, informed about the success of a section of the printing industry and said, “Along with all the problems that have occurred in the printing industry in recent years, sometimes threats are used as an opportunity, too. For instance, the raw materials that have a production advantage in Iran have been exported.”

 

He continued, “Some printing machines are produced in Iran which can be offered even less expensive than the Chinese and Turkish ones, given the USD exchange rate. For instance, in the recent Printing and Packaging Exhibition, some foreign participants made contract for the purchase of 10 die cut machines and automated sealing machines.”

 

Abedini asserted, “Of course, printing manufacturing companies are also facing trouble, because they both have to pay taxes with high rates and are not provided with the required facilities for production, and banks do not support them, either. Exports need support. Herfe and Fan Co. is currently exporting to Iraq and Turkey but faces problems regarding the supply of parts and special alloys most of which are imported.”

 

In response to the question whether becoming the subset in the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has helped with the elimination of the problems or not, he said, “It was done without determining a strategy. It was done when the printing and packaging industry requested, but there was not strategy for it. `The strength, weakness, opportunities and threats have not been evaluated. No facilities have been considered for us, while printing is one of the most expensive productions in the world, and all products require being exposed to public need printing machinery.”
