speech of The managing Director of the Association of Managers of Corrugated and Carton Industries
Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen,
If I want to envisage the corrugated and carton industries in our beloved country, I have to say that the domestic production capacity of the installed corrugate machinery is around 3 million tons per year, but due to lack of enough requirement of the domestic industries to carton boxes with this nominal capacity, the production of corrugated sheets and cartons is between 800 thousand and one million tons.
Most of our corrugated and carton machinery uses old technology. Moreover, because of the sanctions, we could not renovate our machinery, but during the sanctions, some new industries were launched with a lot of difficulties, and we managed to upgrade some of our machinery, especially in printing field.
Fortunately, I would like to inform that we have become self-sufficient in packaging paper for our industries and almost have not had any imports in this respect, and if we ever had the slight quantity of imports, they were special types of paper which are not produced domestically, and we had to import them. I should advise you that the carton and corrugates industries have faced numerous problems this year which have been solved by consulting and cooperating with the respected Syndicate of Paper and Cardboard.
Our Association has good relations with all paper manufacturers and believes their problems in theirs. We have tried to solve them strongly with the coordination of the respected Syndicate of Paper and Cardboard, for instance, we can mention the permission of waste paper imports. We have always believed in the exchange of information between our industries and foreign ones. That is why; we support the industrial tours of LetsGoChina which results in the technical improvement of our industries.
Finally, I would like to thank Ms. Winnie, the senior manager of CBBC Company, who is the organizer of these industrial tours.
