E-commerce of academic textbooks due to paper shortage

The developing resources and maintenance deputy of the Research and Educational Planning Organization said, “If the problem of paper shortage continues, the idea of e-commerce of textbooks and e-learning will be strengthened.”
 
Regarding the paper shortage to print textbooks and the paper left at customs, Seyed Hossein Talaei Zavareh (the developing resources and maintenance deputy of the Research and Educational Planning Organization) said to ILNA’s reporter, “The Minister has corresponded to the Central Bank in this respect, but the order registration has not yet been renewed to clear the paper from customs.”
 
He continued, “We have written a letter to Mr. Hemmati, the head of the Central Bank, but I am afraid our demand has not been fulfilled on the bureaucratic process yet, and we hope we will be able to resolve the issue next week. If the renewal of the order registration is carried out, we can receive a part of the imported paper to the country.”
 
In response to the question whether the quantity of the existing paper at customs is sufficient to print textbooks of next year, the developing resources and maintenance deputy of the Research and Educational Planning Organization said, “In addition to existing paper at customs, another cargo is being transported by ship to the country. If the order registration is carried out for the paper on the way, we will have access to it.”
 
Referring to the fact that if the problem of paper shortage continues, the idea of e-commerce of textbooks and e-learning will be strengthened, Talaei Zavareh said, “We will follow up the e-commerce of textbooks in parallel to printing them so that we can implement e-learning plan in the areas and regions where there are the required facilities.”
 
Concerning the e-learning of one of the books in first grade of elementary lever, he said, “The e-book will be accompanied with other educational media apart from the pdf file. For instance, videos and other software programs in accordance with the content of the lessons can be shown which of course, our colleagues are working on.”
 
In response to the question whether the electronic textbook will be available at school next year, the developing resources and maintenance deputy of the Research and Educational Planning Organization said, “We hope we can do it because this plan needs making culture and preparation in order to be implemented.”
