Stating that the industry's focus should be on strengthening the so-called workforce industries to create a transformation in the employment of workforce, the former head of the Central Bank said, "There is no codified strategy in the industry sector."
According to Tasnim News Agency, in an interview on the status of industrial strategy, Mahmood Bahmani said, "We must admit that there has not been a codified strategy in the industry sector of the country, so we should draw up a codified economic strategy in the country taking into accounts all aspects of the economy."
The member of the Economic Committee of the Parliament continued, "It is not possible to prescribe one industrial strategy for all different industries because each industry has its own specific conditions and considerations."
The former head of the Central Bank added, "It should be determined why the rate of employment has not increased despite the announcement of economic growth in the country."
Bahmani continued, "The lack of codified strategy is one of the reasons for high unemployment statistics in the country. For example, targeted and systematic investment in industries such as textile has a significant impact on employment."
Stating that the need for job creation is a very important and obvious issue with regard to the high unemployment rate in the country, he added," The industry's focus should be on strengthening the so-called workforce industries to create a transformation in the employment of workforce."
The member of the Economic Committee of the Parliament noted, "In the present conditions, the issue of prioritizing investment in different industries is a very vital point."
