The Chief of police in Astaneh Ashrafieh announced the smuggled forest wood amounting 500 million Rials.
According to ISNA, Colonel Manouchehr Mahboubi announced the discovery of smuggled forest wood and said, "After receiving people's reports on the sales of smuggled timber in a sawmill in the city, the local police inspectors specifically investigated the issue."
He added, "The police force with the experts from the Department of Natural Resources and Watershed visited the sawmill and discovered and confiscated 835 smuggled trees of oak, alder, field elm, and walnut."
Evaluating the value of the discovered wood around 500 million Rials, Mahboubi added, "Three accused people were arrested and introduced to the judicial authorities."
At the end, the chief of Police in Astaneh Ashrafieh considered the forest a natural treasure and asked the citizens and the villagers to preserve the forests and report any actions regarding smuggled timbers through 110 to Police Emergency Center."
