While emphasizing protectionism, the president said, “Iran will be self sufficient in paper production.”
According to Tasnim News from Behshahr, some minutes before the inauguration of Amirabad Paper Complex, Hojat-al- Eslam Hassan Rohani said, “We should reach self-sufficiency in production of paper by protecting domestic products.”
Stating that the production capacity can supply one third of domestic paper requirements, he added, “I am very glad to see this plant is on operation and hope that this policy will continue.”
He continued, “The complex enjoys great equipment, great engineering work has been fulfilled, an enormous wastewater treatment plant has been built next to the factory which complies with the standards, and very desirable paper is produced.”
Rohani said, “We are delighted that the production plants which were not able to be active due to different reasons have been able to be on operation and develop their activities on the birthday of the first Imam after their problems have been solve since two years ago.”
Referring that Amirabad Paper Making Complex started its production in the early 2017 (late 1395) and today has been officially launched, he said, “A part of the domestic requirement of paper is supplied by this economical institution.”
Pointing out that a great part of the paper requirement in the country is supplied from overseas, Rohani noted, “We should progress to self sufficiency of paper, and we should support domestic production while the competition continues.”
The president asserted, “We should reach self-sufficiency by imposing tariffs and supporting domestic production because there is the potential and the power of production.”
