According to the Nation News Agency quoting Iranian ambassador in Pakistan, the free trade agreement between Iran and Pakistan will be finalized within the next three months.
According to IRNA, Mehdi Honardost said, “Banking channels between Tehran and Islamabad will soon begin to work, and the senior officials of central banks of the two countries are supposed to meet each other within a few days.”
The improvement of banking relations will improve the bilateral business relations of Iran and Pakistan because the current volume of trade between the two countries does not indicate friendly relations. On the other hand, banking relations are very important to boost trade relations and investment.
Mehdi Honardost in a negotiation with the president of Pakistan Economy Watch was informed that a high ranking Pakistani delegation was scheduled to visit Iran in order to finalize the free trade agreement next week.
Based on the report, Iran has sent the draft of free trade agreement and hope that the agreement to be finalized within the next three months.
Iran’s ambassador in Islamabad also stated, “Iran has issued more than 100 thousand visas for Pakistanis and plans to increase this figure by continuing the improvement of the trade along the border lines.”
