He said, "Our target in the project is firstly to produce paper, cardboard, and its derivatives and secondly to produce filters which are cotton base. These filters are not currently produced domestically and are imported from the other countries.
Referring to the advantages of paper production from cotton and agricultural residues, Mr. Cheraghpour said, "The advantage of this project to others, in which softwood (conifer trees)lumber is generally used, is to be more consistent with environment."
He added, "We can mention another advantage of this project is the use of cotton because cotton has the capability of being harvested several times in a year which is one of the positive points of the project."
The head of the Developing Center of Technological Units of Pardis Islamic Azad University said, "The team researching in this field has counted on the implementation of self-sufficiency plan of cotton in the country which is supposed to come true in 2017. This project is in the study phase of achieving product and prototype."
He added, "The schedule of the research team of the project to achieve the product is a study program of an interval from 3 to 6 months."
