Huhtamaki to Expand Capacity of Its Molded Fiber Packaging Facility in Ivanteevka, Russia

April 21, 2016 - Huhtamaki announced that it will invest EUR 8 million in its molded fiber packaging facility in Ivanteevka, Russia. The plant produces molded fiber packaging such as egg cartons, cup carriers and egg trays.
 
According to Huhtamaki, the investment project consists of additional manufacturing capacity, warehouse extension and infrastructure improvement.
 
The new capacity will be operational in May 2016.
 
Huhtamaki said that the expansion of the Ivanteevka facility will allow it to meet the needs of the rapidly growing egg market in Russia and develop more added value products to support customers' growth.
 
"In Russia, we are the number one egg packaging manufacturer," said Petr Domin, interim Executive Vice President, Molded Fiber for Huhtamaki. "With support and know-how from our operations team we have continuously improved our production efficiency. With this new, state-of-the-art machinery we invest in the future growth, and in serving our customers better."
 
Huhtamaki has 2 manufacturing units in Ivanteevka, Russia: a molded fiber packaging manufacturing unit and a foodservice packaging unit. The molded fiber unit employs approximately 100 people and has been in operation for over 10 years.
