Kruger said that it will take 10 days of market-related downtime beginning February 27 to March 9 for coated paper production at the Trois-Rivieres and Kruger Wayagamack mills in Canada.
Supercalendered paper production at the Trois-Rivieres Mill will also be curtailed during the same period, Kruger added.
The downtime will temporarily affect a total of 625 workers—325 at Trois Rivieres and 300 at Wayagamack
The Montreal-based papermaker said the capacity adjustment will allow it to re-balance its order book by reducing coated paper by 10,000 tons and supercalendered paper by 1,500 tons.
