Market for lightweight kraft paper stable in the first quarter of 2025

The market for lightweight kraft paper is seen to be stable in the first quarter of 2025 for paper mills and converters. EUWID respondents from both camps are widely satisfied with the start of the year and report favourable demand flanked by adequate market supply.

 

As already reported in January, prices declined slightly in the first quarter. Aiming to correcting the situation in April, several paper producers have demanded higher prices citing rising procurement costs for raw materials and power but negotiations had not been concluded at the time of this survey. There are indications for a market-wide increase in prices but not to the full extent of producers’ demands, say market sources....
