On 30 August 2024 Easypack POP/Displays Group Limited, the specialist manufacturer of temporary three-dimensional point of sale displays, was acquired by Easypack Holdings Limited from Fencor Packaging Group, following which VPK Group acquired a minority share in Fencor Packaging Group. Easypack will continue to be owned and run by its Directors, Fencor announced on 26 September.
According to the UK government's Companies House service, which provides official information on registered companies in Britain, VPK holds 139 out of a total of 489 shares in the non-traded company. This represents approximately 28 per cent of the total shares.
Chris Hall, Easypack’s Business Development Director, said: “Easypack has become increasingly specialised in recent years and the industrial logic which brought Easypack and Fencor together back in 2010 no longer exists, so we have been considering demerging the businesses for some time. VPK’s interest in investing in Fencor provided the opportunity for us to realise these plans. We are very excited about the future potential of an independent Easypack.”
Fencor wholly owns Cambridgeshire-based corrugated sheet plant Manor Packaging, which focuses on manufacturing conventional corrugated packaging and e-commerce boxes. In the last financial year Manor had sales revenues of over £12.8m and employed 85 people.
Manor has invested heavily in new equipment in recent years in response to evolving customer demand and is now one of the best invested conventional sheet plants in the UK, according to reports. Manor will continue to be run by the same management team.
David Orr, Managing Director of Fencor, said: “We are very happy to be creating closer ties with VPK. Fencor and VPK have co-operated closely for over 10 years as partners in Corrboard UK, so we know and understand each other well. We see this as a very positive development for Fencor’s customers, staff and suppliers.”
