Newsprint in Low Supply in Germany

Germany's newsprint market reportedly continues to experience demand outstripping supply.

According to EUWID, newsprint makers say they have had to turn down orders, and buyers confirm that it has been challenging to source the tonnage they need.

In addition, substantial surcharges have been placed on orders, EUWID reported.

German newsprint producers say the current supply problems are primarily the result of technical difficulties experienced by a few mills, EUWID noted, and many machines are running at reduced operating rates.
